March 1st is Self Injure Awareness Day.Instead of just spreading the awareness for only a day, our blog is going to change it to Self Injury Awareness WEEK.What you can do to join us is by sending in a picture of yourself (you don’t even have to show your face) wearing a bandanna, ribbon, string, bracelet on your wrist, or by sending in pictures of the butterfly project. Orange is the colour for self injury awareness, so if you would like to include that somewhere, they would also be great. You can also write the number of days you’ve been clean, a story during your recovery, or just anything supportive to this week.Stay strong and stay proud guys. ❤

Earlier today I was at the grocery store with my family and we saw someone my sister went to school with. My grandma was looking for something and we were standing around that girl, close enough to where I could hear her talking about my scars. She said ” People do that for attention” to whoever she was with. I stood there and my sister could see something was wrong. Having seen me now hiding my arms she got in the girls face and asked her what it was she said. The girl eventually told her, my sister was furious. She said

“She was molested growing up and then raped at 13. She raised three kids all on her own and had to hide who she really was. She’s been cheated on, beaten and left for dead. She wasn’t looking for attention. She was looking for a way to release the pain that she didn’t have the heart to make others feel.”

The girl looks as though she’s going to cry and says she’s sorry, that she didn’t know. It only makes my sister more mad as she says ” I know that you didn’t know and that’s what makes it worse! you shouldn’t judge when you have no idea!”

She grabbed my arm and we left. This is my way of telling all of you that it hurts. Negative comments and snide remarks leave imprints on everyone’s life. Not just the person you said them to, so please. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK.

I’d like to start out with saying that suicide is 100% preventable, you’re never alone, ever. Too many of us have or will at some point know someone who takes their own life. Many of which cases could have possibly been prevented.

I’d like to share the story about my grandmother. Grandma Carrol…
